Another Great Year in Review-2012

Happy Spring everyone!

I have been delaying my review because we have made a big move! Yes, after 22 years in the same building, Greenery has made a big move! With the expansion of our Green/Living Wall business and our holiday decor, we decided to find a new home. We are located close to the Blackfoot Inn and we will be happy to have you come by and see our showroom in the next couple months when we are all set up.

About those Walls!

Yes, Living walls are not just a trend! We continue to be the leader in Canada with the installations we have completed. Of course we are still so proud of our multi award winning installation in Jamieson Place in downtown Calgary. Our sad news is: the building operators decided to give the maintenance of our project to our competitors so we are no longer caring for the Winter Garden. It has been hard for us to accept this, it was such a source of pride for us, and for the last few months we have watched sadly the deterioration of this fabulous site. The once thriving bamboo are thin and suffering and the wall has been ripped apart and will take months more to recover. We do hope for a speedy recovery!

However, life goes on and so do our projects! Our newest Living Wall is an amazing project we installed with Green Over Grey out of Vancouver. This project is in the ATB Building near the airport and we are very impressed with the quality of the product and design that these fellows have created. It was installed in January and we are thrilled with the results and enjoying success with the ongoing maintenance. We hope to work with them in the future. We do however, work closely with our two other Living Wall suppliers, McRae Anderson's Green Wall product and the Dirtt Living Wall, "Breathe".

This past year our "Breathe" projects include 4 more walls at Jayman Masterbuilt along with their living wall surrounding a Smart White Board, Jayman is certainly a company that understands the goodness of "green".

Landscape Architects, Carson McCulloch, the cool offices of Critical Mass, Surch Recruitment, Genesis Builders and an amazing "Eco friendly, Holmes by Homes residence as well as the Dirtt offices and warehouse all enjoy the benefits of the "Breathe" Living wall system.

Another residence and a unique conversion of a water wall to a Living wall at Brookfield Residential, enjoy the benefits of McRae Anderson's Green Walls product.

We have a second installation of the Green Over Grey system at Bucci Development.

So you can see, we have been very busy this past year!

Welcome to Greenery!

Of course our new clients are not restricted to Living Wall products.

We have a new home!

We also have some big changes at our office. Sandy Maxwell has joined us as our Operations and Client Relations Manager. Sandy has a wealth of knowledge in many aspects horticulture and great work experience. We welcome Sandy and hope you get to meet her very soon.

Rennie has taken over the New Sales and Living Wall division of the company and shortly he will be certified for CIU training! We have implemented a client referral program so don't hesitate to contact him!

Saluting our techs!

We are very proud of our horticultural technicians. I am sure we remain the company to work with, as so many of our techs have been with us for so long. Leading the way with 15 years are Adrian and Linda. Our remaining technicians are branching out to specialize in atriums and Living Wall maintenance as well as care for plants in the offices of our clients. We are very thankful to have working with us: Brent, Andrew, Chris, Channing, Duncan, Jordan, Brian, our wonderful three Lindas! Veronica, Ruth, Carol, and Kelly and Janice at the office.

Holiday Decor

If you are not aware of our Holiday Decor program, we hope that you will take a look at some of our pictures and I am certain you will agree, our designs are terrific! We hope to have them on display when we have an Open House down the road.

Staying ahead of the crowd!

Greenery remains at the forefront of cutting edge technology with our participation in industry events. At our last conference in Las Vegas, I was privileged to be on the social media panel with some very accomplished and " younger" speakers as well as be the Master of Ceremonies of the awards program. This year, Rennie has been invited to host and present on a panel for Living Walls. That is very exciting!
